A Norcross Downtown Development Association-sponsored open forum held Oct. 27 included a range of topics of interest to citizens. The informative meeting, moderated by Norcross Council Member Andrew Hixson, was video taped for access by those unable to attend.
Topics included a discussion of the responsibilities of the mayor, council, city manager and staff, as well as the city’s long-term planning tools, including the Comprehensive Plan, LCI Study and Tax Allocation District. Attendees learned about the Beaver Ruin Creek Greenway Master Plan and Norcross Pedestrian Connectivity Plan.
Hixson showed citizens how to navigate the city website, including how to make online payments, report potholes or vandalism and interact with city departments.
Diane Earnest of the Norcross Planning and Zoning Board, Jeff Hopper of the Architectural Review Board, and Pat Eidt of the Development Authority also spoke about their boards and the procedures for accepting and completing projects.
