Smyrna officials held a grand opening and ribbon cutting Friday for the Galleria Manor of Smyrna, a new affordable apartment community for seniors.

Galleria Manor, located on Woodland Terrace, was built partly with federal stimulus funds and the Smyrna Housing Authority. The apartments were built in conjunction with The Paces Foundation, a nonprofit organization providing affordable housing and services for low-income residents.

The complex sits on 3.3 acres and includes 88 rental units.
