A new playground has opened at Tolleson Park, 3590 King Springs Road, Smyrna.

Mayor Max Bacon, Smyrna City Council members, Parks and Recreation staff and representatives from KOMPAN Inc. hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 25 for the new playground.

For all ages, this KOMPAN playground is fully inclusive that involves problem solving and thinking creatively to overcome the challenges provided by its state-of-the-art equipment.

In December, the nearly $179,976 contract was awarded to Kompan Inc. of Texas by the Smyrna City Council.

The former playground was demolished and replaced with this new playground equipment, including a sitting wall, site work and an underground drainage system.

Kompan supplied a proposal under the U.S. Communities Government Purchasing Alliance.
