The Venture Drive at Steve Reynolds Boulevard Intersection Improvement project is scheduled to begin in late June. Contractors working for Gwinnett DOT will add a second eastbound through lane and extend the southbound left turn lane. The existing traffic signal will be replaced with a new traffic signal. The project includes the installation of curb and gutter, sidewalks and drainage improvements.
All the work will be accomplished within the Gwinnett County and/or State of Georgia Right of Way or acquired easements. Drivers may experience delays thanks to lane closures between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Construction is expected to be complete by Feb. 2020. Completion time will depend on actual weather conditions, utility conflicts encountered, etc.
The project is funded through the 2017 and 2009 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) program, the State Road and Tollway Authority’s Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank and the Gwinnett Place Community Improvement District.
