The new Cobb PARKS Administration building will open officially with an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 29 at 1792 County Services Parkway, Marietta.

The community is invited to tour the building and enjoy refreshments.

In a related item on Nov. 13, the Cobb County Board of Commissioners approved the final closeout supplemental agreement and first change order to the contract with Osprey Management LLC for design/build construction services of the new inventory control building at the PARKS Administration Complex under the 2011 PARKS SPLOST Program.

That decision represented a savings of $21,472 with the total cost being nearly $393,124 for the pre-engineered metal building to replace the wooden inventory control structure that was built in the 1970s, according to PARKS Director Jimmy Gisi.

Cobb PARKS has 90 properties; 60 are parks, Gisi said.
