The Modern Atlanta Dance Festival will soon return for its 24th year.

The event, created by Douglas Scott and Full Radius Dance, will feature works from seven choreographers and Georgia dancers over two nights in the Balzer Theater at Herren's.

Lee Harper, founding director of Lee Harper & Dancers, will receive the fourth annual Pioneer of Atlanta Dance award and a dance will be performed in her honor on May 12. Harper has been artist-in-residence at Woodward Academy since 1992.
