After Andy Davis, the artist selected to sculpt a statue of Martin Luther King Jr. for the Georgia Capitol, was killed in a motorcycle accident this summer, the project was put on hold.

Now state officials are gearing up the project once again. They are vetting proposals from several Georgia artists, as well as artists from several other states.

But the question is this: Will the new sculptor execute his or her own vision for the project, or simply realize what Davis had proposed before his death?
