Milton is moving forward with the Northeast Crabapple Connector, one of the first projects to be funded and implemented under the city’s TSPLOST program.

Work was scheduled to start the week of July 22, according to a city announcement. Initially, trees were to be cleared to allow for road grading and utility installation.

The $3.6 million extension will run from an improved intersection of Mayfield Road and Charlotte Drive to a roundabout at Birmingham Highway (Ga. 372) and McFarlin Lane.

Intended to give motorists a way to bypass congestion in the downtown Crabapple area, the project is expected to be completed next spring.
