The Milton City Council has approved a $132,340 professional services agreement to have a consultant update the citywide parks and recreation master plan, and to draw up a master plan for the recently reopened Providence Park.
Barge, Waggoner, Sumner & Cannon Inc., an architectural and engineering firm, is charged with updating the five-year citywide parks master plan, adopted in 2012; and to plan Providence Park, a former Fulton County park with 42 acres off Providence Road.
Providence Park was closed by the county in 2004, purchased by Milton in June 2015, and cleaned up and reopened last November. Barge, Waggoner also will survey Milton citizens about parks, programming and facilities issues.
The consultant was one of seven respondents to the city’s request for qualifications. Staff narrowed the field to three finalists and had them make live presentations. Barge, Waggoner scored the highest of the three.
