The city of Milton Planning Commission will consider a draft conservation subdivision ordinance at its meeting this week, a proposal developed by Town Planning and Design and city officials following a series of public input sessions.
The ordinance would set up a process for creating subdivisions where development is structured so that more green space can be preserved than current zoning law allows. The proposal would make such subdivisions the preferred development method for AG-1 zoning districts, in cases where a so-called “major subdivision” would be 5 acres or more, proposes a new road or extension, or proposes less than 5-acre lots.
The meeting is set for 7 p.m. June 24 in the council chambers at Milton City Hall, 13000 Deerfield Parkway. More information: cityofmiltonga.us.
