City of Milton officials celebrated the city’s ninth birthday on Tuesday by breaking ground for their new city hall complex.
Set to open in April 2017, the complex at Branyan Trail and Lecoma Trace in the downtown area will include offices, council chambers, meeting facilities for residents and a town green to allow for larger community events.
The Milton City Council approved a $10 million revenue bond to fund construction in May 2014.
Aas a result, the new complex won’t mean an increase in property tax bills and will also result in the city no longer leasing city hall space, said Mayor Joe Lockwood.
