State Sen. Vincent Fort is ratcheting up his call for Metro Atlanta Chamber President Sam Williams to resign, saying his dirty hands in the Atlanta Public Schools cheating scandal also tarnish the 1-cent transportation sales tax going before voters next year.
The chamber spent years lobbying for a referendum and helped hire a team of consultants to sell it to voters. Fort has been calling for Williams' resignation since the AJC revealed he worked to shield former APS Superintendent Beverly Hall. "Voting is about trust. You just can't trust Sam Williams," he said.JOHNNY EDWARDS
