A team of companies has been hired to draw up recommendations for how the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center can be put to better use. The team is led by HR&A Advisors Inc., a real estate, economic development and energy efficiency consulting firm that has worked in New York, London, Cincinnati and Hong Kong. The team also includes Urban Collage, a firm founded in Atlanta in 1997, according to Central Atlanta Progress, a downtown economic development group. Kroger grocery stores and the American Cancer Society are partnering for a two-week campaign to fight cancer. From Sunday, Feb. 5 to Saturday, Feb. 18, Kroger customers will be able to support the society's efforts by purchasing $1 Relay For Life “footprint” icons at checkout. “The American Cancer Society is thrilled for the opportunity to have generous support from Kroger’s customers and associates,” said Randy Redner, the society’s vice president for Georgia. The “footprint” campaign with Kroger is an extension of the society’s Relay For Life, a signature fundraising event that takes place in more than 5,000 communities nationwide and abroad. The Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Child Support Services is collecting teddy bears and other stuffed animals for children as part of their annual Bearable Hugs for Georgia’s Children campaign. The toys will be given to children receiving care at pediatric facilities, women’s shelters, law enforcement agencies and other children’s organizations throughout Georgia.
