Fayette County deputies Friday were trying to determine who broke into a home Thursday night and tied up and robbed the homeowners.

Fayette sheriff’s detective Joshua Shelton said the incident happened around 9 p.m. at a home on Imperial Way.

“The victims had just arrived home and were preparing dinner when they heard a commotion at the back door,” Shelton said in an e-mail.

Two armed men, wearing dark clothing and masks, entered the home and bound the residents, according to Shelton.

“They were in the home for a short period of time and took property from the homeowners before leaving,” Shelton said. “Once the victims were able to free themselves, they called 911 and deputies responded to the call for help.”

The homeowners were not injured in the incident.
