The Atlanta Falcons and the Dallas Cowboys don’t have much of a football season to brag about, but that didn’t stop two fans of the teams from hosting their own gridiron grudge match on a MARTA train earlier this month.

The fracas was caught on a rider's cellphone and posted to YouTube. The fight happened on an eastbound train around 11 p.m. Dec. 20, according to MARTA spokesman Lyle Harris. The incident was reported to MARTA officials by another rider who witnessed the fight but wasn't involved in the fisticuffs. Police were sent to the scene, Harris said, but by the time they got there the two men were long gone. No police report was filed.

The dust up - the Falcons fan appeared to be the victor - comes a month after MARTA instituted “Ride With Respect, a new code of conduct policy. The policy was announced Nov. 9.

“Certainly that kind of behavior is something we actively discourage,” Harris said. “The new code of conduct is supposed to prevent this kind of behavior.”

For the record: the Falcons are 4-11 this season while the Cowboys weigh in with a slightly better record of 8-7.
