A public hearing on the proposed Marietta budget will be held at 5 p.m. June 4 in the City Hall Council Chamber, lobby level, City Hall, 205 Lawrence St., Marietta.
City staff will present a brief overview of the budget, and citizens may comment and ask questions at that time.
With no tax increase proposed, the recommended budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2019 will begin July 1.
The city’s millage rate, that supports governmental services, is 2.788 mills and expected to remain the same, according to a city statement.
Marietta’s general fund budget pays for government services, including police and fire services, parks and recreation programs, code enforcement, planning and development, streets and public works maintenance.
The city’s overall FY 2019 budget is $317.7 million, including the $59.7 million for the general fund budget.
The Marietta City Council will consider the budget for approval at its regularly scheduled meeting at 7 p.m. June 13, also in the Council Chamber.
