The Marietta City Council agreed Wednesday to rezone property for a 90-unit townhome development in the Canton Road area.
On behalf of HCA Realty and Traton Homes of Marietta, attorney Kevin Moore said Canton Road Townhomes will be located on nearly 14 acres.
The location is at 720, 730 and 750 Canton Road and 899 Cobb Parkway North.
Those opposed were concerned about increasing traffic.
However, Moore said if the property were to be developed for offices under its current zoning, the traffic would increase even more.
