Man who failed to fix fence now may face deportation

A Gwinnett County man may face deportation proceedings after his failure to fix a fence led to a visit from police and the discovery that he allegedly was in the country illegally, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Andrew Valle Urrea was arrested Monday at his home in the 1300 block of Country Downs South Drive in Norcross when he could not produce identification for police, according to the Gwinnett authorities.

Urrea had been warned before about the condition of the fence. Officers went to his house to write him a citation for violating a “fences and walls” ordinance and took him into custody when his identity could not be verified.

Ultimately, an immigration hold was added to the charge against him.

Urrea was released on bond Wednesday from Gwinnett County Jail and must report to Immigration and Customs Enforcement at some future date for a hearing on his status.
