A man fighting in the street died after being hit by two cars Saturday night in Clarkston, DeKalb police said.
The driver of the first vehicle -- a tan Honda Odyssey -- is being sought by police.
The driver of the second vehicle that struck the man stopped and alerted police.
Driver Malcoll McDowell told police he saw the Odyssey strike the man at about 11:30 p.m. at N. Indian Creek and Jamieson, according to an interview on Channel 2 Action News.
McDowell said two men were fighting in the street when he saw the Honda struck the victim.
“I didn’t see him and I hit him [too]. And he got stuck under my car. I pulled over and tried to find him,” McDowell told Channel 2 Action News.
McDowell said the driver of the van fled, but he tried to render aid.
“I go to school for medicine so I was kind of prepared for it. ” McDowell said, who implored the van driver to talk to police.
“That was somebody’s life, someone’s son, somebody’s brother and what not. Do justice and turn yourself in.”
Police have not identified the victim or released more details about the incident.
