Divers found the body of man Tuesday afternoon that apparently drowned in a Clayton County reservoir.

The man, Ervin Brown, 66, arrived at the J.W. Smith Reservoir around 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to Jacqueline Feilke with the Clayton County fire department.

At 11:30, another boater called 911 to that a vehicle was running and a boat was adrift, but there was no sign of the owner, later identified as Brown, Feilke said.

After a search of the boat and surrounding area, Brown's body was located in about 12 feet of water. He lived in Jonesboro.

The reservoir is located 10 miles south of Jonesboro on Panhandle Road.
