A DeKalb County jury convicted Luis A. Porras guilty of murder Tuesday in the ambush killing  of 40-year-old Jameelah Qureshi on August 15, 2009.

Qureshi, the mother of four and fiancé of DeKalb Police Sgt. D.A. Thomas of the DKPD was gunned down in her driveway in a Lithonia subdivision. She was shot at least 13 times with two guns while still in her car, according to DeKalb District Attorney Robert James.

Superior Court Judge Clarence Seeliger is to sentence Wednesday. He faces life imprisonment.
