As part of ongoing improvements in Lilburn, Main Street will be repaired, milled, and resurfaced from First Avenue to Norman Drive 8 a.m. to 5 p.m each Monday through Saturday July 29 through Aug. 17 when weather permits.

The paving is part of the city’s Main Street realignment and Main Street water and sewer improvement projects. The reconfigured Main Street features a safer, more traditional intersection at Lawrenceville Highway.

The two roundabouts allow for smoother traffic flow to Old Town. Church Street has been lowered eight feet to improve sight distance and safety. The $3.5-million project is supported by the city, Gwinnett County, the State Road and Tollway Authority, and the Lilburn Community Improvement District.

At this time, all water main and sewer lines are complete and in service. Paving of the roads is the next step in the process.
