A 48-year-old Macon woman was being held without bond Friday in the Gwinnett County Detention Center, charged with setting fire to two businesses in Norcross.

Gwinnett County Fire-Arson Investigators with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Barbara Ann Stevenson without incident in Macon on Thursday evening.

Gwinnett fire officials said that on the weekend of May 6-9, the woman set fire to the entrance doors at two businesses in a strip shopping center at 5060 Avalon Ridge Parkway. The fire damaged the exteriors of the businesses but did not spread elsewhere before going out.

No one was injured. Neither details nor a motive were given for the alleged attacks.

Stevenson is charged with two counts each of first-degree arson and terroristic threats and acts, both felonies, and one count of criminal trespass, a misdemeanor. The felony charges carry a penalty of up to 20 years in jail as well as fines, authorities said.
