The Locust Grove City Council voted at its Jan. 22 workshop meeting to accept an application for the annexation of 9.97 acres of property at 340 Colvin Drive, at the intersection of Davis Lake Road.

The property is zoned residential-agricultural and will remain that way if incorporated into the city, according to a staff report. The vote was 4-2 to accept the application. City officials will notify the Henry County Board of Commissioners as required by state law, so that body can decide whether to object to the proposed annexation. The council also voted Jan. 22 to approve a resolution appointing members of the city’s event committee for 2019.

All other agenda items, including public hearings, were for discussion purposes only and will be addressed at a future public meeting.
