Demolition of the former Lilburn Municipal Complex, which housed the city’s police and court services, began in late March.

Evaluations by two structural engineers determined it would be too cost prohibitive to alter the existing building for another use. The most cost-efficient approach is to remove the present structure, keeping the storage components and restrooms, and construct a new building in its place.

Now that the relocation of the police department to a new facility on Lawrenceville Highway is complete, the city is moving forward with plans to build an open-air pavilion at Lilburn City Park. The Calvin Fitchett Pavilion will be a 3,000+/- square foot facility and will include restrooms and other public amenities.
