Construction for Duluth’s new Gwinnett County Public Library is at a critical stage with utilities being brought to the site. This work requires running new lines in the existing roadway. As a result, road closures will take place in sections of Main Street and Hardy Street.

Hardy Street is expected to be closed through April 24. The section of Main Street located near the library construction site, where Main and Hardy intersect, is expected to be closed through the end of May. Detours signs are in place.

The new 20,000+ square-foot building will be twice the size of the existing branch on Duluth Park Lane. This project is the result of an intergovernmental agreement between the city and Gwinnett County.
