The Curiosity Lab at Peachtree Corners will host a free event for startup founders and leaders to learn how to protect intellectual property. Jim Schutz, with Troutman Sanders, will provide an overview of how to protect technology startups noon to 1 p.m. Feb. 17 at the Innovation Center at Curiosity Lab at Peachtree Corners, 147 Technology Pkwy.

The class will cover topics like what is a patent, how to obtain a trademark, how to protect source code, and should you use open source.
