According to city documents, the Lawrenceville Police are executing more narcotic search warrants than in previous years including 31 narcotic high-risk search warrants so far this year. In 2017, the LPD’s Crime Scene Unit executed 78 narcotic high-risk search warrants.

The $24,242 purchase from Dana Safety Supply, Inc. was recently approved by the Lawrenceville City Council. The approved request will purchase four ballistic body armor protection systems, four ballistic helmets, and one ballistic shield.

The Crime Scene Unit has been called upon by agencies like the DEA, ATF, FBI, and Homeland Security to participate in large drug seizures. These agencies have provided money from these seizures that fund this purchase.
