The Lawrenceville City Council recently approved $73,687 to cover mandatory engineering inspections required by CSX Transportation, Inc. to allow the city to install gas lines under CSX rail tracks.

A CSX Railroad encroachment agreement was required to allow the city to install gas lines under the railroad tracks. So far, the city has been spent $63,687 on the inspections and anticipates an additional $10,000 will be needed to complete the project.

CSX chose the engineering firm with services including professional engineering inspection, travel, lodging, and per diem costs.
