Following a public hearing, the Lawrenceville City Council voted to approve a special use permit to allow a Public Storage mini-warehouse facility at 495 Buford Drive to bring the existing use into zoning conformance and allow the construction of three additional storage buildings. The 5.66 acre property is presently developed with five, one-story mini-warehouse buildings and a two-story manager’s office at the front. Construction of three new buildings at the rear of the site will be done in an area presently used for vehicle storage.

The three new buildings will occupy existing vacant concrete pads designed for warehouse buildings that were not initially constructed. Each new building will be one-story and contain approximately 7,300 square feet of storage space.

Approval comes with a number of conditions related to signage, landscaping and encroachment on the adjacent stream buffer.
