The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted at its March 19 regular meeting to approve a requested rezoning to residential suburban for 187 acres on the north side of Millers Mill Road.
The approval is for a development that is expected to include 62 condos and 309 single-family homes. The developers plan to designate nearly 101 acres of open space with the remaining land using about five dwelling units per acre, which is in line with the density range for that land on the county’s Future Land Use Map. Several citizens spoke out in opposition at the meeting because of concerns about increased traffic and school overcrowding.
The rezoning was approved with 14 conditions and the vote was 4-2.
