Browns Bridge, the big green steel span that carries Browns Bridge Road (Ga. 369) over the main channel of Lake Lanier between Forsyth and Hall counties, is being replaced, and daytime lane closures are planned this coming Monday through Friday, Nov. 18-22, for the delivery of new bridge beams.

Five beams were to be delivered last week and five more beams are on their way, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. Lane closures are planned from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily the coming week through Friday, Nov. 22

“Please drive alert through the work zone and know before you go as this will create delays,” GDOT said.

The new bridge, with two 12-foot lanes and shoulders eight feet wide, is expected to be completed next April. Information: https://bit.ly/2pivgku
