Johns Creek city leaders will spend the next few weeks considering the 2013 budget. The new spending plan, proposed Monday, calls for $52.2 million in overall spending, which is about $1 million less than the current year's $53.2 million budget.

The proposal calls for operating expenses of $45.5 million, down about $700,000 from the current year. It proposes $3 million in capital expenses, projects such as buildings and street upgrades. That's down about $1.8 million from 2012.

The City Council will meet Monday to discuss details of the plan, which calls for no increase in property taxes. Adoption is scheduled for Sept. 10.
