Henry County officials broke ground May 21 on an intersection improvement project at Banks and Rock Quarry roads near Piedmont Henry Hospital. Funded by the county’s special-purpose local-option sales tax, the project is intended to widen the intersection and allow for dedicated turn lanes.

Commissioner Blake Prince called the work “much-needed and long awaited,” saying that the intersection has been the site of several accidents. Total cost of construction is $462,749.69 and the project is expected to be completed by September.
