The Hampton City Council voted at its Oct. 8 regular meeting to approve an amendment to the city’s nuisance ordinance, changing it to include overgrown weeds and grass as an official nuisance.

The council also approved three separate ordinances which address the official definition of a subdivision for the purpose of stormwater management and other city services. The city’s 2019-2023 Capital Improvements Element Update was adopted after a public hearing, which is required every year by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for the city to be able to collect impact fees.

The council also approved an amendment to the city’s tree protection ordinance.
