You’re going to have to hang on to those empty bean cans and that turkey carcass for an extra day this week. Gwinnett County trash and recycling collection will be delayed due to Thanksgiving.

Gwinnett County typically picks up trash and recycling on Thursdays and Fridays, but pickups will be pushed back one day due to the holiday. Customers who usually get their waste collected on Thursdays will have it collected on Friday, Nov. 24. Those who get their waste collected on Fridays will have it collected on Saturday, Nov. 25.

County offices will also be closed on Thanksgiving, Nov. 23, and the following Friday, Nov. 24. Offices will reopen with normal hours on Monday, Nov. 27. A magistrate court judge will be available at the Gwinnett County Detention Center on Thursday and Friday.
