Gwinnett residents reminded to renew tags early for late May birthdays

Gwinnett is reminding residents with May birthdays, and residents with deadline-related title services, to complete renewals as soon as possible. A state motor vehicle system upgrade and the Memorial Day holiday will interrupt tag and title services May 21-27. Boat owners hoping to enjoy a Memorial weekend lake outing need to get their trailers tagged now as well.

Online and kiosk renewals without changes from previous registration should be completed before the system shuts down at 11 p.m. Monday, May 20. Convenience fees apply; decals arrive by mail. The systems are expected to reopen Monday, May 27.

All Tax Commissioner offices will be closed on May 27 for Memorial Day. Renewals at tag offices must be made before the system goes down at 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 22. No convenience fees; five offices county-wide. The new system will available at 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 28.
