A Gwinnett County family is asking for the public’s help in finding the men responsible for shooting their loved one and leaving him for dead.

“He would be gone. I don't think he would've made it. It was just too much,” the victim’s wife said.

A Good Samaritan heard his cries for help Sunday evening and rushed to help him.

The victim’s wife asked to hide their identities because they are scared for their lives.  She did however share pictures of her husband in the hospital’s intensive care unit as he recovers from multiple gunshot wounds to his legs.  It happened at the Bradford Gwinnett Apartments in Norcross where an acquaintance had arranged for the man to retrieve his stolen wallet.

The wife said, “He waited around for a while until she text him to come to the stairs and there waiting for him was a man with a gun. He turned around and there was another man with a gun, but as soon as he turned his back they shot him four times in his legs.”

That’s when he says he was robbed, his keys taken and his wife’s 2004 black Ford Escape stolen.

The victim’s sister, visiting from out of state, thinks it was all a set up.

“Should be a warning to people to not fall to be lured in to these kind of set ups,” she said.

The victim’s sister and wife say he is calm, but has a long road to recovery ahead.  “They shattered his knee,” his sister explained.  “He got gun whipped so he has stitches on his forehead, between his eyes on his nose. It's nothing you'd wish on anyone.”

Gwinnett County Police have talked with a person of interest but have not made any arrests and have not located the car.
