A man had to receive medical attention after he was injured by a fisherman's hook hanging off a pier at Wrightsville Beach.

The man was not bit by a shark as originally reported by beach goers and town officials.

In the video, which is graphic, two men can be seen in the water trying to wrangle a shark after it was caught on a fishing hook.

In the process of trying to get hook out of the shark in order to release it, one of the hooks caught one of the men's hands.

The ocean then turns red as blood quickly clouds the water.

The man was taken to the hospital and will be OK.
