Support noshing for a good cause

Kim Fields of Dancing With The Stars and her husband Chris Morgan host Family Food Fest 2016 along with HGTV’s Egypt Sherrod and DJ Fadelf on Fathers Day. There is still a need for volunteers. There will be a volunteer orientation 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. June 11.

Family Food Fest Atlanta is a celebration of 100+ chefs, cooks, restaurants, etc. who come together to provide sample size servings to the public. This year a BBQ grilling component has been added. Procceeds benefit VSNS Inc., an organization that does free health screenings and job readiness training in inner city communities..

Green Market seeks help

The Green Market is a program in partnership between the Piedmont Park Conservancy and the City of Atlanta Parks, Recreation and Bureau of Cultural Affairs and offers fresh, locally grown produce, farm fresh meats, artisan cheeses, snacks, live music, chef demos and kids programs in a weekly open-air farmer’s market.

Volunteers must be at least 13 years unless accompanied by an adult, able to communicate effectively with the public, lift up to 20 lbs., and work outdoors in various weather conditions. (Market is rain or shine).

Volunteer tasks include Green Market set up and break down, chef demonstration assistant, Green Market surveyor, market veggie valet.

When: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday
