Steve Michael Dorman, a dean at the University of Florida, will be president of Georgia College & State University starting September 1.

Dorman was the sole finalist and the State Board of Regents approved the hire Friday. He replaces Dorothy Leland who left to become president of the University of California, Merced.

Stas Preczewski served as interim president this past year, but returns to Georgia Gwinnett College July 1.

Paul Jones, vice president for administration and operations at GCSU, will serve as interim president July 1 through August 31.
