For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Fulton County’s Women’s Health Division will hold its annual awareness event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Adamsville Recreation Center, 3201 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, S.W., Atlanta. Residents can get free breast exams, blood pressure checks and glucose and HIV screenings at the “Mowtown Melodies”-themed event.
The division has a breast and cervical cancer prevention program at six health centers, providing exams and mammograms at no cost to uninsured, income-eligible Fulton residents ages 40-64. The Atlanta centers are Adamsville, 3700 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., S.W.; Lakewood at 1853 Jonesboro Road, S.E.; Neighborhood Union at 186 Sunset Ave.; and the Center for Health and Rehabilitation at 265 Boulevard, N.E.
