A major subdivision development project in northwest Forsyth County is leading to a months-long road closure.

Chamblee Gap Road is now shut down to through traffic between Bethelview and Johnson roads in order to upgrade it to an urban curb-and-gutter paved roadway with adjacent sidewalks and multi-use paths. The work is being paid for and done by Lennar Inc., which is building a massive development off of Chamblee Gap including 572 single-family detached homes and 124 attached units.

County officials said the road will be finished and reopened later this year.
