The recent construction of Forsyth County’s new courthouse and jail and renovation of the courthouse annex has created a larger-than-normal amount of surplus office chairs, desks and other furniture – to be offered for public sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Nov. 5.

“When offices moved into the new courthouse and jail, furniture was standardized in order to be uniform, which left us with some surplus furniture,” now in storage, said Forsyth Procurement Director Donna Kukarola.

Goods will be available “at very reasonable prices,” Kukarola said. This isn’t an auction, and prices will be set: $2 for a chair, $5 for a bookcase, $10 for a desk, and $5 to $10 for file cabinets. Other furniture and a limited number of appliances will be priced on-site.

The sale will take place at 843 Canton Highway, Cumming. All purchases are cash only and are final. Items are offered as-is with no warranties or guarantees. They must be removed by 5 p.m. the day of the sale. Buyers will load their own vehicles. Information: 770-888-8872.
