The Forsyth County School District has called two public meetings in the coming weeks to seek comments on its proposed Fiscal Year 2020 operational budget.

The document calls for a $3,000 salary increase for certified staff, a 2 percent cost-of-living adjustment for classified staff, and a step increase for eligible staff, the district said.

The meetings are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, and 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, at the Forsyth Board of Education Central Office Building, 1120 Dahlonega Highway, Cumming.

The budget is to be presented to the Forsyth Board of Education at 4 p.m., May 14, with final approval expected in June.

It calls for total spending of $479.25 million, up 7.87 percent from the prior year’s $444.29 million; on revenues of $480.61 million, a 7.77 percent increase from $445.94 million.
