At a called meeting Wednesday, the Fayette County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution regarding regional transportation funding, nearly a week after the measure was detoured by board bickering. The two-page resolution expresses the commission’s view that the state legislature, which is currently considering House Bill 170, “should re-evaluate transportation planning and funding philosophies.” The measure addresses gas tax revenue allocation, calls rail transit plans “boondoggle projects” and emphasizes local input on spending.
