Falls can have serious health consequences, especially for elderly Georgians.

A  Falls Prevention Awareness fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 23 at 2 Peachtree St.

There will be free medical screenings and fitness demonstrations.

The Office of Injury Prevention of the Georgia Department of Public Health's Maternal and Child Health Program, the Georgia Department of Human Services Division of Aging Services and the Georgia Fall Prevention Coalition are coordinating the free event.
