Westbound lanes of I-20 in southwest Atlanta were blocked late Tuesday morning after a huge tree came crashing down onto the interstate.

The tree was blocking the three right lanes just east of Langhorn Drive, but authorities had all lanes shut down at 11:35 p.m.

The tree fell about 11:15 a.m., according to police dispatchers. Winds at the time were gusting to around 20 mph.

Crews were working to cut up and remove the tree just before noon, but westbound traffic had backed up to the Downtown Connector.

No injuries were reported.
