Fulton County officials want to create a transit proposal for the county outside the city limits of Atlanta. Residents passed a transportation tax increase last year that will pay for road, bridge and pedestrian improvements over the next five years. Expanding transit is the county’s next priority.
Already, consultants have been to the cities of South Fulton, College Park, Mountain Park, Union City, Chattahoochee Hills and Roswell and Milton, to hear what kind of transit residents hope to see. They also want to know what residents don’t want. The next meetings is scheduled for 6 p.m. Aug. 3 at Jefferson Park Recreation Center ,1431 Norman Berry Drive, East Point. Another meeting will be scheduled for the city of Palmetto in the fall.
