Forty-one people involved in a multi-county tobacco trafficking ring were indicted Thursday in Gwinnett County.

The individuals face different charges based on their role, but include racketeering, possessing cigarettes with counterfeit stamps and possessing unstamped cigarettes. The joint investigation involved the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the state Attorney General’s Office and Department of Revenue, the Lawrenceville Police Department and the Gwinnett District Attorney and Sheriff’s offices.

Most of the suspects were arrested in October.
